A JOURNEY TO REFLECT ON
This year, we were approached by the people of Kasasa, a village just outside Hoima and they badly wanted a school. There are so many orphans and disadvantaged children who were not going to school and the LCI expressed his concern for their future. Despite the difficulty, we worked with them to make a community school which has started operating with 150 learners and 11 volunteers from LULA’s team who are teaching these kids.
Although we struggle with feeding the kids, outsourcing scholastic materials for them and facilitating our volunteers, it is heartwarming to see all these kids who would never have gotten any education if not for our learning centre finally sitting in real classrooms and being taught by dedicated volunteers who want the best for them.

Meet the LULA kids
As you can see the excitement and the smiles of gratitude on their faces, these kids are very happy to be in classrooms.
Through our innovative educational models, literacy promotion and fun classroom learning, these kids go home while looking forward to the next day at school.
